how to know the wireless password of your network using control panel

Sometimes you are connected to a wireless network automatically but you are not the network administrator, and basically you have no idea about the password to sucessfully connect other host to the network.

Example using Windows 8.1,

(possible on enterprise networks this options are disabled by default or managed by other policies so you are not able to see it or need admin rights)

s t e p s

1. Open “Control Panel“.
2. Sort the view to “Category“.
3. Select “Network and Internet“.
4. Select “Network and Sharing Center“.

You will see a window like the following,

5. Click on “Connections” to the network you are connected.

You will see a window like the following,

6. Click on “Wireless Properties“.
7. Go to “Security” tab.

You will see a window like the following,

8. Enable the checkbox “Show characters” with admin rights.
9. That is all.
